Songs For Young Lovers/Swing Easy!:
Sinatra on Capitol
capitol CDP 7 48470 2
The first Sinatra-Riddle album collaboration dealt with taking some of the George Siravo small group arrangements that Frank used in his nightclub appearances after leaving Columbia Records. Riddle fleshed out the tunes for a larger orchestra and the resulting recording sessions were held on May 2, 19553, November 5 & 6, 1953, and then on April 7 & 19, 1954. The sixteen revised Siravo-Riddle arranged tunes were released as two 10" LP's, Songs For Young Lovers and Swing Easy. Years later, the two albums were combined on to one 12" LP and even later, on to a Compact Disc (CD), as shown above.
This is the package that hooked me forever way back when. The instrumentation, arrangements and Sinatra's interpretation of the lyrics got into my heart and head...forever. It truly was the beginning of a very happy relationship between us.
